During our analysis, we have focused on those players
that have statistically shown the ability to excel throughout their
minor league careers. We have looked at cold, hard numbers vs.
body types and ability to lay off breaking balls in the dirt. From
a hitting standpoint we have targeted players that have shown solid
power potential, and from a pitching standpoint, players that have the
ability to strike out hitters consistently while limiting their walks.

Top 2006 Minor League Seasons (by level)
From a review
standpoint, we have focused on the same statistical measuring tools for
minor league players as we have for major league players. This
means that the below list will not have players with the most home runs,
RBI's and best batting averages at each level, but more key development
statistics like slugging percentages and plate discipline for hitters
and strikeouts and walks for pitchers. The players listed below
have nothing left to prove at the level they played at in 2006 and for
AA and/or AAA players, they could made an immediate impact at the major
league level. In previous seasons, players such as David Wright,
Nick Swisher, Curtis Granderson, Connor Jackson and Carlos Quentin have
shown up on this list.
