  • Jermaine Dye - 2/5.  He's 5 for his last 13.

  • Jimmy Rollins - 3/5 with his 18th home run.  He stays hot.

  • Aaron Rowand - 4/4 with 3 doubles (24).

  • David Eckstein - 2/4 with his 9th double.  He doesn't contribute much to a fantasy team, but in his first game back he has picked up right where he left off and now has a 6 game hitting streak despite missing a month with a lower back injury.

  • Jeremy Hermida - 2/4 with his 9th home run.

  • Randy Winn - 3/5 with a double (23) and a home run (6).

  • Wilson Betemit - 4/6 with a double (7) and a home run (10).  In his last 2 starts he is 7 for 10 with 2 home runs.  He's nothing more than a backup now with Nomar at third.

  • Brian Giles - 2/2 with 2 walks.  His power has disappeared, but he still has a .386 OBP.

Pitching

  • Daniel Cabrera - 6 IP, 8 hits, 4 walks and 7 k's.  Not an impressive outing, but he does have 15 k's in his last 12 IP.  He also has 9 walks, but the 15 k's is the most in consecutive outings all season.

  • Miguel Batista - 6 IP, 5 hits, 2 walks and 6 k's.  His 9th win of the year - he's pitched well lately with a 2.29 ERA in his last 7 starts with a 38/21 k/bb ratio.

  • Ted Lilly - 8 IP, 4 hits, 1 walk and 7 k's.  His 3rd consecutive start with only 1 earned run allowed.

  • Tom Gorzelanny - 6 IP, 6 hits, 1 walk and 7 k's.  His best strikeout performance of the season.

  • Chuck James - 6 IP, 2 hits, 3 walks and 4 k's.  He hasn't allowed more hits than innings in a start since June 13th, but strikeouts have been unimpressive and so has control with a 20/14 k/bb ratio during this time.

  • Tom Glavine - 8 IP, 2 hits, 0 walks and 5 k's.  Win number 298.

  • Rodrigo Lopez - 7 IP, 1 hit, 2 walks and 5 k's.  His best start of the year, and his most strikeouts since May 29th.

  • Yvonni Gallardo - 4.1 IP, 1 hit and 4 k's.  He took over for Ben Sheets, who left early with an injury, and looked dominant.

  • Chris Young - 6 IP, 2 hits, 0 walks and 8 k's.  Will the NL Cy Young come down to Peavy and Young?  Another dominant performance.

  • Nick Markakis - 2/3 with a home run (10).  He's now 11 for his last 27.

  • Paul Konerko - 2/3 with 2 doubles.  He now has a 9 game hitting streak and his average is up to .270 on the year after a rough start.

  • Michael Cuddyer - 2/3 with a double (17).  He's 7 for his last 11 with 2 doubles and a triple.

  • Manny Ramirez - 2/5 with his 12th home run.  He's been heating up with 2 consecutive 2-hit games since the break.

  • Mike Lowell - 2/4 with his 2nd triple.

  • Alex Rios - 3/4 with 2 doubles (25) to extend his hitting streak to 9 games.  During this time he is hitting 15 for 30 with 7 extra base hits.

  • Frank Thomas - 2/4 with his 12th double.  He's 6 for his last 16.

  • Reed Johnson - 2/4 with his 4th double.  His first multi-hit game since returning from the DL.

  • Billy Butler - 2/3 with a walk.  He's 9 for his last 22 with 3 walks and 5 strikeouts.  He's going to get extended time at the big league level with Sweeney injured, and looks like he's starting to catch up to big league pitching.

  • Adrian Beltre - 3/4 with his 14th home run.  He's hitting like it's 2004 lately, going 16 for his last 27 with 4 home runs.

  • Delmon Young - 3/4 with his 21st double.  He has a 6 game hitting streak during which time he is 13 for 26 - still no walks though.

  • B.J. Upton - 0/0 with 3 walks.  First game back from the DL and he played CF.

  • Cliff Floyd - 2/4 with a walk.  His first game in over a week.

  • Mark DeRosa - 2/5.  His 3rd consecutive 2-hit game.  Having a quality year as a 2nd baseman with 26 extra base hits and 30 walks in 266 at bats.

  • Brian McCann - 3/4 with 2 home runs (11).

  • Greg Dobbs - 4/5.  He's hitting for good power this year with 24 extra base hits in 175 at bats.  His 8/32 bb/k ratio is a concern for the 29 year old though.

  • Aaron Roward - 3/6 with his 21st double.

  • Jimmy Rollins - 3/5 with his 17th home run.  He's back to his normal self going 30 for his last 89 with 7 doubles and 4 home runs.  No steals though.

  • Ryan Braun - 2/4 with 2 home runs (13).  Picking up where he left off.

  • Troy Tulowitzki - 2/4 with a home run (10).  He has a 6 game hitting streak with 2 home runs, 2 walks and only 3 k's.  He could put up big numbers in the 2nd half.

  • Ryan Church - 2/5 with his 25th double.

  • Jeremy Hermida - 2/5 with his 10th double.  He's 10 for his last 30 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs.

  • Mike Jacobs - 2/3 with his 6th home run.  He's on fire, going 8 for his last 17.

  • Kevin Kouzmanoff - 3/4 with a double (14), triple (2) and a home run (8).  He's in the middle of another hot streak, going 7 for his last 14 with 4 extra base hits.

  • Eric Byrnes - 3/5 to boost his average to .310.

  • Brandon Phillips - 3/5 with a double (14) and a home run (18).

  • James Loney - 3/5 with his 5th double.

  • Andre Ethier - 3/4 with a double (16).  He's battling with Matt Kemp for playing time.

Pitching

  • Erik Bedard - 7 IP, 3 hits, 2 walks and 7 k's.  Looking like the 2nd best pitcher in baseball this year.

  • Mark Buehrle - 8 IP, 6 hits, 1 walk and 1 k.  He's given up less than 2 ER in each of his last 7 starts, during which time he has a 1.68 ERA and 23/8 k/bb ratio in 53.2 innings.

  • Kelvim Escobar - 8 IP, 6 hits, 1 walk and 6 k's.  His strikeout rate is back to normal with 42 in his last 40.1 innings.

  • Kevin Millwood - 7 IP, 5 hits, 3 walks and 7 k's.   He's pitched well over his last 5 starts, allowing 3 or less earned runs in each.  He has only struck out 23 in 33 innings during this time though - while walking 12.

  • Scott Kazmir - 6 IP, 4 hits, 4 walks and 7 k's.  He has walked 3 or more in each of his last 6 starts.

  • Roger Clemens - 5.1 IP, 5 hits, 4 walks and 2 k's.

  • Carlos Zambran0 - 6.2 IP, 3 hits, 3 walks and 7 k's.  He's been very good since June 6th, going 6-2 with a 1.55 ERA and 0.88 WHIP.  His 63/23 k/bb ratio is good, but his walks are still a concern going forward.

  • Brad Lidge - 1 IP, 2 k's.  His first game back from the DL.

  • Tim Hudson - 7 IP, 5 hits, 1 walk and 4 k's.  His best start in a month and he's been very inconsistent since April ended.

  • John Maine - 4.2 IP, 6 hits, 3 walks and 3 k's.  His worst start in almost 2 months.

  • Chad Billingsley - 6 IP, 4 hits, 3 walks and 2 k's.  In his last 3 starts, he's 2-0 and has struck out 16 while walking 6 in 18 innings.

7/13/07

Batting

  • Jim Thome - 2/4 with his 15th home run.

  • Jermaine Dye - 3/5 with his 13th home run.   The All-Star break might have been the best thing for him, he had been in a 1-25 slump.

  • Gary Sheffield - 3/4 with 2 steals (14).  The break didn't affect his hot streak - he's now 16 for his last 34 with 4 home runs.

  • Curtis Granderson - 2/5 with a double (25).  He now has 52 extra base hits on the year - he could be in for a big 2nd half, but his walk rate has actually decreased from last year, 10% to 7%.

  • Alex Rios - 3/4 with his 23rd double and 18th home run.  He's not the most disciplined hitter, but his production in the 2nd half could vault him into a top 4/5 round pick next year.

  • Vernon Wells - 2/5.  He's hit very well since moving into the leadoff spot.

  • Manny Ramirez - 2/4 with his 21st double, breaking a 1-9 stretch.

  • Brendan Harris - 2/4 with his 19th double.

  • Delmon Young - 2/4.  He's now 10 for his last 22.  No walks during this time though, so expect him to remain streaky.

  • Bobby Abreu - 3/4 with a double (17) and a home run (6).  Hitting down in the 7th spot in the Yankee lineup.

  • Michael Cuddyer - 4/4 with a double (16) and a triple (4).

Pitching

  • Jon Garland - 7 IP, 8 hits, 2 walks and 3 k's.  A nice rebound effort after his 11 earned run performance last week.

  • Jeremy Guthrie - 3.2 IP, 9 hits, 3 walks and 3 k's.  Could he be in for a rough 2nd half?  His strikeout rate as a starter is barely over 6 per 9.

  • Felix Hernanez - 6.1 IP, 10 hits, 2 walks and 6 k's.  A step backwards after 2 very good starts before the break.

  • Andrew Miller - 5 IP, 6 hits, 2 walks and 6 k's.  He has 13 k's in his last 13 innings while allowing only 9 hits.

  • Roy Halladay - 5 IP, 8 hits, 4 walks and 2 k's.  He has 10 wins, but has been very average this year.  His ERA is now approaching 5.00.

  • Jamie Shields - 6 IP, 9 hits, 1 walk and 2 k's.  He's allowed 4 or more runs in 5 of his last 6 starts.

  • Scott Baker - 6 IP, 5 hits, 1 walk and 3 k's.  He's been inconsistent since being called up, but he did put up very good minor league numbers the last three years and has pitched well since the end of June, with 24 k's and 4 walks in his last 31 innings.

  • Orlando Hernandez - 6 IP, 3 hits, 3 walks and 7 k's.  He'll get wins with the Mets and while he has been inconsistent and somewhat wild, he does have 68 k's in 84 innings.
